The green giant arborvitae is also typically not prone to bagworm problems, so you don’t have to worry about spraying chemicals. This plant is also extremely weather-resistant and can resist frost and cold damage.Expect your green giant thuja to have a 10-15 foot spread, with a growth rate of 36-60 inches annually, which means you can expect to have a dense, evergreen barrier in no time. These plants have a maximum height of 30 to 40 feet, however you can always trim your green giant arborvitae hedges to your desired length. Grow zones are 5-8.
